Richards’ personal training is fundamentally bespoke and based upon a series of basic foundations.  These impact on the fitness programme discussion, design and implementation for the individual(s).

PHYSICAL: relating to the body as opposed to the mind. In the case of personal training, it is the effect to the physical form that we are trying to affect through correct exercise, nutrition and lifestyle adjustment. The domino effect is that it will alter other states.

MENTAL: defined as “a state of well-being in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”

SOCIAL: often defined as relating to human society, the interaction of the individual and the group, or the welfare of human beings as members of society.  Within a training scenario, it is to give an individual confidence and the will to want to interact with others better.


GOAL ORIENTATED:  The definition of goal setting is the process of identifying something that you want to accomplish and establishing measurable goals and time-frames. How many times have you started on your fitness journey, with all the best intentions and yet failed to finish with a success?  As your trainer, Richard is determined to support you to create both long term and short term goals that will serve as markers along the way to highlight progress.  With a clear plan in place, training programs devised, nutritional advice given and targets to hit, all that is required to complete the tasks at hand is effort and consistency.

Measuring body fat and other components is important for determining fitness, essential for showing progression and vital for accountability. Weight alone is not a clear indicator of good health because it does not distinguish between pounds that come from body fat and those that come from lean body mass or muscle.  Working with Richard means taking some of your statistics to set the start point, create the journey and aim to make the difference.

PERSONAL TRAINING:  Training with Richard is all about ensuring every session is a different experience, with varying challenges and all geared towards helping make you a better version of you as soon as possible.  All clients undergo a complimentary consultation which includes goal-setting, lifestyle analysis, dietary history, health history and character trait discussion. Personal training is a relationship based on trust, commitment, fun and moving forwards together to succeed, so it is vital that life in and out of the sessions is taken into consideration.

Once contracts are signed, training comes in the form of either 1-2-1 or partner sessions bookable in advance, in blocks and used within a specific amount of time. Contact us for availability and pricing.

The Guest Session is perfect for individuals who might need that kick-start, or want to make sure they are on the right path with a one-off workout ahead of continuing alone or before committing to on-going sessions. It is also a unique opportunity to gift someone a session with Richard for a special occasion, as a reward for their hard work or for no reason at all.

The session is 90 mins and includes: consultation, workout, fitness review and 4 week bespoke training programme based on your requirements.  Session price £155

  Specifically devised to meet the demand of individuals wanting to train with or alongside Richard, Check-In training is the next phase of distance personal training, working around your lifestyle and other commitments. It is perfect for people who might have a crazy work/life schedule, may not want to commit to weekly face-to-face sessions or simply live too far away for regular workouts to be feasible.

After your initial face-to-face consultation, Richard will devise your nutritional and workout programme, plan your regular communication schedule, give you the tools to begin your transformation and meet you again at the end for final measurements and workout. The Check-In methodology is about giving you guidance along the way, tweaking your programme and offering opportunities for discounted face-to-face training during the specified period of time (10 weeks).
